Charles Fox Cap Classique Wine Estate

Charles Fox Cap Classique Boutique

Purchased in 2005 by Charles and Zelda Fox, with assistance from neighbour Paul Wallace, they set out to transform a fruit farm into 6.3ha of grape vines. These vineyards face North-East and South, with an elevation of 230m and 300m above sea level.
This boutique winery specializes in crafting Cap Classique wines only, and provides a laid-back tasting experience, whether you choose to enjoy it on the outdoor patio or inside the cozy tasting lounge. The varietals include those used to make Cap Classique only – Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinto Meunier. Charles Fox is an avid ‘Francophile’, especially when it comes to the traditional method of making champagne, which he believes is crucial for producing high-quality wine.
Different tasting options to choose from, depending on your palate preference. No restaurant or pairings, so keep this in mind when planning your trip. A small playground for children and lots of grass to kick a ball on.

Darling views and vines

Bush vines from the cool West Coast. The cool and temperate West Coast climate lends itself to a variety of different micro- and meso-climates which, along with the different soil types, lead to unique grapes which we guide into even more unique wines. With approximately 95% of all our vineyards being Unirrigated (dry land) and roughly the same percentage being bush vines (i.e. not trellised), this is as close as one can get to what nature intended for grapes to be.

Kirabo Private Cellar

Kirabo vineyard sunset with hazy views

Kirabo is a small, family-owned business, that consists of a private cellar, seasonal micro-brewery, and events venue.
Our wine is a product of hard work and passion, allowing it to form a personality of its own. It holds more than just taste and aroma. It tells the story of six generations, of perseverance, and of hope. Kirabo Private Cellar is mainly a red wine cellar, but recently we introduced two ranges of Chenin to our wine list, seeing as we reside in Chenin Country.
