Plaisir Wine Estate

Plaisir Wine Estate Mountain Vineyards

Plaisir Wine Estate was established in 1693. For more than 300 years, Plaisir has been making French-inspired wines in Simondium. It was one of the first farms to start cultivating vines in the area and has been excelling at it through the keen interest and hard labour of many generations of committed guardians. The Griffin, a mythological creature and symbol of Plaisir represents the foresight and bravery of these men and women and remains a guide for those to come. Today, the farm encapsulates two of the original Drakenstein farms, making it not only one of the oldest but one of the largest in the area, spanning 974 hectares with some 250 hectares under vine.
