Mont Rochelle has two restaurants. The Country Kitchen is perfect for a light lunch or wine tasting. Or, for more formal dining, our flagship restaurant MIKO is in a prime setting with impeccable views of the Franschhoek Valley, vineyards, and mountains. Dating back to the 1850s, our winery originally served as a fruit packing shed for early settlers. Now converted into a traditional wine cellar, it processes about 150 tons of grape varieties per season including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon. You can sample these during our wine-pairing experience.
Mullineux Family Wines was established in 2007 and was owned and managed by Chris and Andrea Mullineux. Analjit Singh’s love affair with South Africa started when he first visited the country for the Soccer World Cup in 2010 and he subsequently purchased 3 adjacent farms to create the bespoke Leeu Estates. In 2013 Analjit joined forces with Chris and Andrea and so Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines was born.
The tasting room of Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines, called The Wine Studio, is on Leeu Estates in Franschhoek. Knowledgeable staff will guide you through tasting the wines from both our Swartland and Franschhoek wineries, with elegant glassware and in a comfortable, relaxed space. To avoid disappointment if the Studio is full, advance booking is essential.
