Mitres Edge Wine Estate

Mitre's Edge Wine Estate Boutique Historic

Mitre’s Edge Wine Estate is a family-owned and managed boutique winery, nestled at the foothills of the Simonsberg Mountain, between Paarl and Stellenbosch. It is in this beautiful setting that winemaker Lola Nicholls, assisted by husband Bernard, focus on producing smaller quantities of high-quality, award-winning wines.
There are many things to consider when pairing wine and food, and Mitre’s Edge is well known for their wine and cheese pairing, which has been individually selected to match each other.
Wine tastings and pairings are by appointment only.
The Cape Georgian-styled manor house is the ideal setting for wine tastings, while the private wine cellar exudes an old-world charm for small gatherings and tastings. In addition to the intimate and relaxed wine tasting experiences, country-style accommodation is offered for four people in the guest house.

Bacco Estate

Bacco Wine Estate Boutique Modern

Time at Baccō is a slow rhythm, gently flowing like the seasons. Just as the life cycle of the vine cannot be rushed, creating any rare work of art requires patience. We believe that true wellbeing lies in synergy with nature, nurturing our environment and savouring its gifts. Our wines are made with this mindful, unhurried approach, to be generous and engage all the senses. Our Tuscan-inspired wine estate, with Italian cypresses spring up between the vineyard blocks, remind us of our Super Tuscan heritage here in this Mediterranean corner of the Cape, namely Simonsberg-Paarl. Baccō is the brainchild of dynamic father-and-daughter team Nathan and Carla Jankelowitz. Long inspired by the opulence of the Super Tuscan region, they dreamt of bringing this holistic, experiential brand of luxury to South African wine lovers. A dream that has now become a magnificent reality.

The Baccō Tasting Room, which opened its doors in December 2022, and managed by Carla, offers visitors a rare wine and culinary experience. An immersion in luxury that engages all the senses by delighting visitors with her brand of Cicchetti – Italian-inspired small plates. Fryer’s Cove Wine

Fryer's Cove Boutique Wine Tasting

Located along the pristine coastline of the Cape West Coast lies Doringbaai, home to a small, but hardy fishing community and arguably the world’s only vineyard this close to the icy Atlantic Ocean.
Fryer’s Cove is also the only vineyard within the Bamboes Bay ward, the smallest ward in South Africa.
The new tasting room, right on the water’s edge, is the perfect place to explore and enjoy the unique and intriguing wines synonymous with Fryer’s Cove. Take in a breath of cool coastal décor, the spectacular glistening views of Doringbaai harbour, all whilst enjoying that perfect glass of Sauvignon Blanc. And if the vast ocean views are not enough, you can peer straight into the Old Crayfish factory that houses the working cellar. Here you will find Winemaker and Manager, Liza Goodwin, honing her craft. Using ingenuity and age-old practices, she pumps ice-cold sea water through the cellar to cool tanks during fermentation, all while keeping a watchful eye on the oak-aged Sauvignon Blanc’s, and blending Grenache Noir and Cinsault.

Chamonix Wine Farm

Chamonix Award Winning Wines Franschhoek

“Situated high above the fertile Franschhoek valley in the heart of the Cape winelands, lies a wine farm like no other.
As purists we have always believed that to produce a wine of true character, it is essential that nature be the primary winemaker.
Our farm is blessed with cool breezes during the hot summer months and stony, clay-rich soil, giving our wines their unique personality and style. A philosophy of minimal intervention and environmentally conscious farming methods are just some of our secret ingredients.”
