Well known for their variety of Cap Classique’s produced, Villiera Wine Estate also has a unique wine tasting and game drive experience. Hop onto a game drive vehicle and take a 2hr drive through the expansive 230-hectare Wildlife Sanctuary. With over 100,000 indigenous trees and 12 dams, this area is home to Springbok; Kudu, Bontebok, Eland, Black Wildebeest, Zebra, Duiker, Steenbuck, Waterbuck, Grysbok, Foxes, Bush Pigs and Giraffes. The Grier family started Villiera Wines in 1983 and are now in their 4th generation as family winemakers with approx. 170 hectares in extent. The wine tastings can be done either outside under the ancient oak trees or inside the tasting area aptly named the Wine Sanctuary, and include either the Cap Classique Tasting, a Still Wine Tasting or a delicious Artisanal Nougat and Cap Classique Tasting. Villiera have their own Dak Wijn that is baked on the roof of their tasting room in demijohns and then finished off in barrel.
