The town of Wellington is situated at the base of the Groenberg mountains in the scenic Bovlei valley, and is home to Val du Charron Wine & Country Estate. The Entwistle family purchased this 45-ha farm in 2006 and named it Val du Charron, which means Valley of the Wagonmakers, and pays tribute to the rich history and culture of this area. The reference to the wagon making highlights that Wellington was the final town where the Afrikaner ox wagons were serviced before they crossed the stunning Bainskloof pass into the interior. This estate has picturesque mountain views from every angle, whether from the terrace, one of the many restaurants or from the comfort of your luxury accommodation. For those seeking a winelands getaway, they have 4-star guesthouse accommodation, while the Coach House offers 5-star luxury accommodation with your own private space to unwind while overlooking the Hawekwa mountains. The Pizza Vista restaurant specialises in delicious wood-fired pizzas, hearty salads and scrumptious pastas. The kiddies can frolic in the splashpad below the restaurant, keeping them busy as well. Whether a beer or gin drinker, they cater to all tastes here. The Grillroom offers mouthwatering steak and grill options, as well as various starters and small plates, not to mention their death-by-chocolate dessert!
