Spier is one of the oldest wine farms in South Africa, with a recorded history dating back to 1692. At Spier, there is plenty to delight the entire family. Gorgeous wines and memorable meals from the very heart of what we offer our guests. Start off with sampling accoladed vintages at our lakeside Tasting Room; then feast on farm-inspired food at one of our restaurants – or enjoy a picnic on our sun-dappled Werf.
Our farm is your playground. Explore our pastures and vineyards on foot, bicycle or Segway. Let the kids be enthralled by our Elemental Garden or take them to meet raptors at Eagle Encounters rehabilitation centre. Eagle Encounters has been going strong since 2001, rehabilitating and releasing birds of prey, promoting conservation and education, on land donated by Spier. Birds of prey keep the farm’s ecosystem in balance, making it possible to naturally control pests, without pesticides.

Art is as much part of Spier as good food and fine wine. Spier believes that the visual arts are a powerful tool for transformation – sparking new insights and inspiring us to engage with our world in new and imaginative ways. Sculptures and artworks from the Spier Art Collection – one of the largest contemporary art collections in the country – can be found throughout the farm.
