Diemersfontein Wine and Country Estate is a 183-ha estate, that lies in the heart of Wellington and is home to the original coffee Pinotage. It has belonged to the Sonnenberg family for 3 generations, with David and Sue as the current generation. A lovely estate to visit, with 10 garden rooms and 2 cottages all furnished in true country style accommodation. The HOPE restaurant offers a contemporary bistro for lunch and some dinners, from Wednesday to Sunday. There is a quaint and lovely inside tasting room, with umbrellas and tables outside on the patio with a special view of horses, bokkies and geese in the surrounding meadows. A kiddies pairing of grape juices, truffles and nougat are delicious treats for the old and young. The gardens are filled with sculptures, surrounded by trees and streams, while small dams with islands provide fun adventures for kids to enjoy.
