Predominantly a red wine producing boutique wine farm in Simonsberg foothills, within the Stellenbosch region is the lovely Deux Frères Wines. Founded in 2008 by brothers Retief and Stephan du Toit as they continued the heritage as a “wine family” left to them by their mother and stepfather. Tastings are by appointment only, and upon arrival at this quiet and relaxed farm, you will be greeted by the friendly Weimaraners and ushered inside. Tastings can be done in either the stylish and quint inside area, as well as a garden patio section next to the fountain and one of the many Johan Steyn sculptures that adorn the property. They offer a variety of wines, including a certified old vine Sauvignon Blanc, a Mourvèdre and various red blends. Charcuterie platters are available with prior booking, and no restaurant so factor that in on your travels. The Deux Frères villas offer expansive, tasteful winelands accommodation surrounded by a lush green garden. Serene and tranquil with large, windowed conservatory-style verandas and a crystal blue pool for the hot Summer days.
