On the slopes of the Helshoogte Pass is the charming and quant farm called Camberley Wines. This small family-run estate prides itself on a homely and intimate feel when you come to visit. John and Gael Nel are the owners, with John the winemaker as well. On a lovely sunny day, the outside patio is ideal for a friendly and down-to-earth tasting. A no-rush, no-pressure attitude is what you will find here as you choose from different tasting options. Beautiful artwork by Gael adorns the walls, as well as some labels on the bottles. Camberley Wines is on the Franschhoek Wine Tram’s Navy Line. Although no restaurant, they have a few snacks available (biltong, nuts, veggie chips, Pringles etc). If you are looking for a relaxed and intimate tasting, then this is it. Camberley Wines has 3 private apartments on the farm, each with a gorgeous mountain view and pretty garden.
