Waverley Hills is best known for producing organic wines with a unique style – Extremely smooth with soft ripe tannins and robust fynbos (garrigue) characteristic. We also produce olives in brine, air dried olives and a small amount of olive oil. The Estate is situated on the Tulbagh Wine Route between Tulbagh and Ceres, close to Wolseley, South Africa, at the foothills of the breathtaking Witzenberg Mountain Range. Come taste Waverley Hills wines in a beautiful and relaxed environment, surrounded by fynbos and at one with nature. Our elevated cellar offers you amazing views of the various surrounding mountain ranges which are a wonderful sight in summer and beautifully snow-capped in the winter months. Our restaurant uses only the freshest ingredients sourced from local producers, as well as our seasonal permaculture garden.

Theuniskraal is a wine farm situated in the heart of the Winterhoek Valley in Tulbagh. We boast a rich variety of cultivars from our renowned Riesling to our Prestige, a perfect blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. Our wine is true to the taste of home, as all our grapes are grown, harvested and pressed here on the farm in the cellar. Not only do we share with you the tastes of all seasons from red to white, but tastings are paired with a lovely view of the Winterhoek Mountain range and insight into the hustle and bustle of a working wine farm.

Nestled in the Tulbagh Valley 120km Northeast of Cape Town, shaped like an inverted horseshoe and surrounded by mountains on either side is Saronsberg Wine Estate.
Saronsberg was originally part of Twee Jonge Gezellen, which was then divided between the 2 Krone brothers in the 1950s and known as Waveren and Welgegund. In 2002 Saronsberg was purchased by Nick Van Huyssteen and renamed after the Saronsberg mountain slopes it occupies.
The tasting room is beautifully flanked by majestic oak trees, a picturesque dam and of course the amphitheatre of surrounding mountains. Find a space inside the cool interior that is home to contemporary South African art pieces, or outside under the trees on the lush grass. They have 1 tasting whereby you choose 9 different wines, which includes the likes of Cap Classique, Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Shiraz, Rhone Blend or Rosé. As their motto says: Nature Meets Art Meets Wine is beautifully put. The estate is both child and dog friendly. Unfortunately, no restaurant or platters.
The Saronsberg Vineyard Cottages are a must for this region, all self-catering with enchanting mountain views. Farm activities like scenic hikes, mountain biking trails and bird watching will keep you busy before settling down with a glass of wine to enjoy.

Set on working farm and situated 120km North-East of Cape Town is Rijk’s Wine Estate. This lovely wine farm and hotel offers a relaxing, tranquil, and romantic ambience. It’s all about enjoying the food, the wine, and a relaxing pleasure in the heart of Tulbagh.
The restaurant offers beautiful views over the vineyards, while enjoying some authentic Cape cuisine. Wine tastings or a casual drink with your platter or something delicious from the seasonal menu is available. Guests can take a dip in the cooling waters of the eco-friendly swimming pool, or relax on the sun-loungers while enjoying the panoramic Tulbagh views with a glass of wine in hand.

Enjoy new vintages straight from the barrel or go for a hike up to the Yellowwood Forest before enjoying a glass of your favourite wine. Make use of the elegant venue for corporate functions or intimate weddings.
Rustic style farm accommodation is available for a memorable stay on the farm. Special tours & tasting, cellar tours & barrel tasting on request.

Established in 1714 by two Frenchmen from the city Montpellier (“Spyseniersberg” or “Chef’s Mountain”) in France, this historic Cape Dutch Wine Estate recently celebrated its 300th anniversary. Steeped in a rich history of wine making, Montpellier is renowned for producing wines with integrity and character representative of the Tulbagh Valley terroir. In addition to producing award-winning wine, Montpellier serves as a tranquil getaway and stunning event venue.

Manley Wine Estate

Manley Wine Estate Accommodation Historic

Sections of Manley Wine Estate date back to the 1860s, with some of the buildings showing a French Huguenot style. David Manley Jordan established the main portion of the estate in 1996, and later in 2020 Manley was acquired by Markus Ehehalt.
This boutique wine farm offers different tasting options depending on your palate preference, from either their Cellar Selection Range or The Reserve Range. For a delicious breakfast or lunch, The Taste Restaurant offers local cuisine with many mouth-watering options.
There is a gorgeous chapel and function venue for weddings, as well as conference facilities. Child friendly with lawn games and giant Jenga, as well as dog friendly. Manley Wine Estate has country-style accommodation, with both B&B and self-catering options. A large swimming pool and Lapa add to the experience.

Lemberg Wine Estate

Once known as the smallest winery in South Africa, Lemberg was established in 1978 and is well known for their Hárslevelü. This 21-hectare boutique family-owned wine farm craft their wines by hand. Many of the Lemberg wines are affectionately named after their special English Bulldogs that have been part of the family through the years, starting with Spencer in 2010. Thereafter came Lady (Hárslevelü and Viognier-blend), Nelson (Syrah), Louis (Rhone blend), Ella (Grenache noir) and Rose (Rosie’s Blanc de noir).
The wine range encompasses both a Lifestyle Range for easy drinking options and a Premium range for more complex wines. The wine tastings are based around their favourites and what they have open and available. A relaxed and happy atmosphere with cheese platters available too.
Lemberg also make a Brandy and two Gins (Lemon Infused & Fynbos Infused). If looking for a rustic country stay, then you can enjoy a peaceful relaxing retreat here, or use their French Oak Room to host your function.

Krone Vintage-only Cap Classique is handcrafted in the traditional method on the 300-year-old Twee Jonge Gezellen wine estate in Tulbagh. Our Cap Classiques celebrate a commitment to the vintage and the character of each harvest. Our historic farm has been restored to reflect its heritage and contemporary renaissance and is open to the public for tastings as well as underground cellar and gallery tours.
