Uva Mira Mountain Vineyards nestle against the Helderberg Mountain Range in Stellenbosch, South Africa. Uva is the Latin translation for grape, Mira means wonderful, miraculous and full of charm.
Uva Mira’s unique position at high altitude of up to 620 metres above sea level and only 9 kilometres from the Atlantic Ocean creates the cool climate for wines that are elegant in style. The fine wines hand crafted at Uva Mira are made using only grapes from the vineyard sites on the estate, to truly express the unique traits of the remarkable site. A golden thread runs though the wines which speaks of elegance, purity of fruit, freshness, minerality & longevity. The varietals Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc feature prominently in the portfolio.
Uva Mira was acquired mid 2014 by Toby Venter, Chief Executive Officer of Porsche, Bentley & Lamborghini in South Africa. Toby Venter’s search for a suitable wine estate ended the moment he set foot on Uva Mira and the pinnacle of quality is what he wants in bottle. Uva Mira wines consistently receive local and international accolades, reflecting the terroir, attention to detail and passion put into every bottle.
