A picturesque drive up the iconic avenue of stone pine trees leads to Neethlingshof Wine Estate in the heart of Stellenbosch. With more than 300 years of winemaking excellence and grapes being produced on the farm since 1705, they have had many years to get the balance right for their unique wines. Neethlingshof covers 278 ha with soil types of Tukulu, Oakleaf and Villafonté with mostly southerly slopes to maximise the terroir and aspect.
The wine tasting centre which is open 7 days a week is housed in a lovely old, thatched building. There is an outside terrace or inside section for the colder months. There are 4 wine only tasting options, then a Flash Food & Slow Wine Pairing, a Chocolate & Wine Pairing, a Texture & Taste Pairing and a kiddies pairing.
Choose from a selection of platers or pizzas to eat while at the terrace garden, otherwise Salt Deli serves both breakfasts and lunches. The talented Craig Cormack and Beau du Toit take you on a salt journey to demonstrate how different types of salt influence the dishes and their flavour profiles.
