Nestled along the N7 on the Piekenierskloof Pass you’ll come across a historic piece of land known as ‘De Tol’, that is now home to, amongst others, the Piekenierskloof Wines tasting room.
Since 1849 De Tol has acted as a supply station and pitstop to travellers. Today the premises is a hub of honest food, exciting pairing experiences, quality artisanal products, an excellent Piekenierskloof Wines wine selection and teas from Carmien Tea. Guests are offered a variety of experiences so that they can take home a taste of Citrusdal.
De Tol Farm Deli has a wide array of locally-produced, home-made marmalades, preserves and cheeses, whilst the Carmien Tea Shop offers unique and exciting new ways to enjoy Rooibos tea. Numerous joint events pairing wine, food and tea also led to distilling Carmien tea into two unique fynbos gins which forms part of Piekenierskloof Wines’ selection.
