You spoke, and we listened. Our annual Jazz Under the Stars event is back by popular demand, and tickets are already selling like hotcakes! A perfect start to your summer season of relaxed enjoyment with family and friends, this year’s affair, scheduled for Friday, 15 November, once again features Moonshine, a jazz ensemble led by talented saxophonist Dan Shout.
With a credo of “jazz with a kick”, expect to tap your feet to the rhythm of their upbeat tunes. No ordinary jazz band, they’ll take you on a magical musical journey, starting with the Roaring 1920s and the Swingin’ 1930s and 1940s, ending with the classic Rock and Roll and Motown sounds of the 1950s and 1960s. You can look forward to the music of Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, and Dean Martin, right through to the rocking sounds of Chuck Berry, Big Joe Turner, Elvis, Ray Charles, and Marvin Gaye.
Add to that an incredibly beautiful and serene setting, delicious Cape heritage-inspired food by chef Drikus Brink and his team from the two restaurants on our estate – Geuwels and Clara’s Barn – and a selection of award-winning wines by our talented young winemaker, Vusi Dalicuba. All the ingredients you need for an enchanting night out in the winelands!
Starting at 18:00 and concluding at 22:00, the event costs R850 per person, which includes the music, two glasses of wine of your choice, and a feast of delightful food. Wine will also be available for purchase at special prices on the evening, so remember to stock up for the festive season!
